    Inscribed in pen and black ink at bottom centre: Pesarese. Numbered in pen and black ink at bottom centre: 1070 (Sparre)

    Preliminary study for the altarpiece of the Trinity chapel of the "Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta" in Gandino (Bergamo). Our drawing represents the whole composition and is very close to the final state of the composition. The painting was delivered in 1647.

    Two other studies of the central part of the composition are known as well as a number of detail studies [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1322]
