As a student in Paris, Lorens Pasch the Younger had embraced the grace and elegant treatment of fabrics of the French Rococo portrait, with its light palette that betrayed the influence of pastel painting. Pasch made this portrait four years after returning from his studies abroad. The name of the sitter is unknown. The crest of the frame has a striking symbolism, with its ears of corn and not least its spray of oak leaves, which could point to a member of the Ekeblad family.
