Theodor Kallifatides was born in the Peloponnese in Greece in 1938 and moved to Sweden in 1964. As an author he moves between two languages – writing his books in both Swedish and Greek. In his translations he has also acted as bridge between the two countries – he has translated August Strindberg to Greek and Mikis Theodorakis to Swedish. The photographer Sanna Sjöswärd has her roots in Iran and like her subject is interested in issues relating to alienation and identity.
