BiographyLorenzo di Credi trained in the workshop of
Andrea del Verrocchio, and after his master’s
death in 1488 he inherited the direction of the
atelier. As an apprentice there he had worked
with Leonardo da Vinci and been influential in
his early career, but later on their roles changed
and he himself became a follower of Leonardo.
Subsequently he was also influenced by the young
Raphael. Lorenzo executed several paintings in
collaboration with Verrocchio and possibly also
under the supervision of Leonardo.
