Study for a painting, "Noli me tangere", in the collection of Viscount Allendale, Bywell Hall, according to Bellori executed for a member of the Buonvisi family for a church in Lucca. There exists another, somewhat different, version in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich, dated by Olsen to the early 1590s.

Tessin acquired this drawing together with a study, now lost, for the entire composition which he gave to the Crown Princess Louise Ulrique as a Christmans gift in 1748. It has not been possible to trace this drawing later.

This is a more or less final study for St. Mary Magdalen. A number of preparatory studies for the figure exist: a nude study and a study of her left arm in Berlin, a nude study in Düsseldorf, and a large study in Oxford. Further, a fragment of the cartoon with the upper part of the figure is in a private collection in Oslo [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 418]
